The Lim lab develops drug candidates that can exert therapeutic effects primarily for various brain diseases at KIST. Organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry skills are primarily utilized for our research. We identify hit compounds for potential clinically relevant targets and produce lead compounds by optimization of potency and physicochemical properties. We take an integrative approach by active collaborations combining medicinal chemistry, molecular and cell biology and structural biology. Currently, we are mainly working to synthesize drug candidates for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and auto-immune diseases like multiple sclerosis.
