Lindsey Pollak is an author and speaker specializing in career advice for young professionals.

She is the author of the popular career advice book for college students and recent grads, Getting from College to Career: 90 Things to Do Before You Join the Real World (HarperCollins, April 2007).

Lindsey writes a top-rated career blog, Lindsey Pollak Blog, and contributes columns to The Huffington Post. Her writing also has appeared in such publications as Marie Claire magazine, PINK magazine, Metro New York newspaper and New York Moves magazine.

A noted expert on Generation Y career issues, Lindsey’s advice has been featured in such media outlets as The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, New York Newsday,,, Martha Stewart Living Radio and ABC News America This Morning.

Lindsey’s professional speaking includes frequent conference and seminar presentations at universities, business associations and corporations around the United States. Recent speaking engagements have included Amherst College, Baruch College, Columbia University, Harvard University, Northwestern University, MIT, the University of Michigan, UNC-Chapel Hill, USC, UT-Austin, Yale University, the New York Times Job Market Career Series and Time Inc.  Lindsey is also affiliated with Negotiating Women and The Madison Consulting Group as an independent training consultant.

A graduate of Yale University, Lindsey received a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, where she completed a master’s degree in women’s studies. She is a former director of business development for and began her career as a program coordinator for the American Woman’s Economic Development Corporation.

Lindsey is a member of New York Women in Communications and she serves on the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship selection committee in her home state of Connecticut.

Lindsey currently lives in New York City, and in her spare time she loves to bake and decorate cupcakes.
