Justin Simeone

Justin Simeone is the Chairperson of the Board for Students Helping Honduras  

    Justin serves as the Board of Directors and Chairperson for Students Helping Honduras (www.studentshelpinghonduras.org), a growing student-based non-profit started three years ago at the University of Mary Washington.  SHH, which now has 13 chapters nationwide, has raised over $500,000 for sustainable economic development projects designed to uplift and improve the lives of children in Honduras, including schools and
houses.  They are currently involved in a $500,000 fundraising campaign to create a Women's Academy that will provide college scholarships and a transitional living center to some of Honduras' most impoverished young women.

    Justin, a senior at the University of Mary Washington, is completing Bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science in preparation for graduate study in Law. He is a recipient of the 2006 Grellet C. Simpson International Scholarship, the 2007 Oscar H. Darter History Department Scholarship, and the 2007 Lt. Travis J. Fuller Memorial Scholarship for Community Service. At UMW, Justin is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, President of the History Honor Society, and a Writing Center Tutor. Additionally, he has conducted field research on international law and human rights in the United States, United Kingdom, and Israel. Justin is Currently a Fulbright finalist.
