    Elizabeth Ngonzi is a social entrepreneur who has been active in the hospitality industry for the last 16 years as a consultant, educator/trainer, public speaker and researcher.  In 2001, she founded Amazing Taste, a values-led Hospitality consulting firm committed to promoting industry excellence and raising the bar of international hospitality standards, while paying due respect to considerations of Sustainability and Community Wealth in all geographic areas of operation.

    Under her direction, Amazing Taste has worked with a wide range of prestigious organizations including Action Against Hunger; the American Composers Forum; Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.), The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation; DKNY; the National Eating Disorders Association; Susan G. Komen for the Cure, North Jersey Affiliate; the United Nations; the United Nations Development Programme; Womensphere Interactive Networks; and Yale University.

    Ms. Ngonzi’s public speaking experience includes serving as one of fifteen featured speakers in the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration’s Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series in the fall of 2005.  She has also addressed members of the Association of Bridal Consultants, the International Special Events Society, the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality and the National Society of Black Engineers.  She recently served as a panelist for The New England Women’s Global Leadership Conference at Mount Holyoke College and Cornell University’s annual Entrepreneurship@Cornell Celebration.

    Over the past five years, Ms. Ngonzi has been on the adjunct faculty of three institutes of Higher Education.  She has developed courses in the areas of Meeting and Event Planning Process; Event Information Systems; and Food and Beverage Purchasing and Controls.  She recently evaluated a new Event Planning Certificate program for at College in New Jersey, on whose Advisory Board she will serve.  She has also served on the Boards of Middlesex’s Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management Program; the New Jersey North Chapter of the International Special Events Society; and a Fund for an Open Society. Additionally, she is a proud member of Cayuga Hospitality Advisors (an invitation-only international network of 150 executives counseling the hotel, resort, club, casino and food services industries); Cornell Hotel Society; and Step Up Women’s Network.  

    Ms. Ngonzi began her career with Digital Equipment Corporation as one of sixteen participants in its Marketing Development Program.  She next went to work for MICROS Systems, Inc. where he was ranked as one of the top-ten sales people in the corporation.  Prior to beginning her work for Amazing Taste, she spent four years as a business consulting manager for Arthur Andersen where she directed engagements for clients in the Hospitality, Telecommunications and Energy Sectors.  She has also consulted to the Park Hyatt Embarcadero Center in San Francisco and the famed Tavern on the Green Restaurant in New York City.  Additionally, she was one of three participants chosen nationwide by the McDonald’s Corporation as an MBA summer intern, where she worked on projects for its Corporate Marketing and Strategic Planning divisions.

   She received her Master of Management in Hospitality (AACSB-accredited MBA program) degree from Cornell University School of Hotel Administration in Ithaca, NY and a Certified Hospitality Educator Designation from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute in Lansing, MI.  She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Syracuse University School of Information Studies in Syracuse, NY. Additionally, she trained at the Culinary Institute of America’s Napa Valley facility, Greystone.

    A self-proclaimed “world citizen,” she obtained her primary and secondary education at the United Nations International School where she studied French and Spanish.  She has also traveled throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and the Caribbean.
