Smithfield Fire Department serves the residents and businesses of Smithfield, Hyde Park, Amalga and Benson in northern Utah. Additionally, the department responds on the initial call to structure fires in River Heights, Providence, Logan, North Logan, Richmond and Trenton. The department also responds to all communities throughout Cache County, Utah, and Franklin County, Idaho, when requested through mutual aid contracts.
The department provides fire and emergency medical services. It also manages and staffs the Cache County ambulance system in conjunction with Logan Fire Department. In addition, the department oversees emergency management for Smithfield, including coordinating preparedness courses for the public. | The process for burn permits has changed.
