*** SMCA ANNOUNCEMENT - April 3, 2020 ***

Bismillah. Considering recent increase of COVID-19 outbreak, Masjid Saitama (SMCA) would inform the following related to FRIDAY PRAYERS.

1. Anybody who does not feel well, is having cough, unusual temperature rise, or any symptoms of illness is requested NOT TO COME to the Masjid and to PRAY AT HOME.

2. People from outside Saitama City are requested NOT TO COME to the Masjid. They can pray in their respective locations in small groups.

3. Those living near the Masjid are being organized in small groups as well. Kindly contact your community responsible or SMCA for more details.

4. Even in small groups, everyone is strongly requested to BRING THEIR OWN PRAYER MATS and to WEAR MASKS.

5. SMCA will continue to monitor closely the situation and directions from local government and authorities. We will post update in case of any changes.

May Allah protect us, our families, neighbors, and the whole society.
Kindly fill our extra time with good reflections, repentance, and learning more about our Creator and Islam.

Saitama Muslim Cultural Association (SMCA) is an organization of all Muslims of Saitama university, and Muslims living around Saitama Masjid. Members family in Japan are also included. SMCA is registered with Japan government. There are many regular and occasional activities by SMCA. The Friday Juma and daily prayers are offered in the Saitama Masjid by following a Jamat schedule.  We distribute cheap and good quality 'Halal Food' and 'International Telephone Cards'.  You can get useful tips about living cheap around Saitama University. A yahoo group is used for message and file circulation. Information of Masjid in Japan is available.
