Hello! My name is Lilli Pedersen, and I am a graduate of the University of Maryland and an alumna of the Integrated Life Sciences Honors Program. I am pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy: Biodiversity and Conservation Biology, as well as a certificate in Women's Studies. My goals include centering my career around health equity and accessibility, advancing women's rights, supporting sustainability efforts, becoming an active citizen of my community, and attending medical school. I am passionate about women's health, community service, and preserving our natural environment. I love to travel, and have been to 18 countries on 5 continents; I also have a goal to become fluent in 5 languages!
My internship, completed in the summer of 2018, was with the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health Main Campus. I was working under the direct supervision of Herui Wang, Ph.D., and the indirect supervision of Dr. Zhengping Zhuang, M.D., Ph.D.

This is me in Quito, Ecuador! I traveled to Ecuador for 10 days in January 2018, visited the beautiful Quilotoa region, and backpacked for 3 days and 24 miles through the Ecuadorian Andes.
