Yellowman - Most Wanted - Greensleeves

Its fair to say the Yellow Fever is once again on the land. Well after two decades since it first appeared first in Jamaica, then the UK and then the US. Yellowman took the reggae world by storm back then. He got so big that he was talked about as the next Bob Marley. In fact Yellowman, was the first reggae artist to be tagged like that. By the time CBS signed him up and teamed him up with Bill Laswell, it was all over and done with. But that still does not detract from the great music that Yellowman made during those few years. Junjo probably got the best out of him, and Greensleeves got the best out of Junjo. So this new series of 12" mixCDs from Greensleeves, needed to have a Yellowman selection and what a corker it is. All the big hits are here - 'Mr Chin' 'Nobody Move Nobody Get Hurt' 'Body Move'. Excellent.

Yellowman - Yellow Fever - Artists Only - CD

Twenty years ago - Yellowman was the biggest artist in reggae music - bar none. Ten years ago he had become a parody. In the year 2000 - the Yellow fellow shows that with the right producer - King Jammy and the right approach (99.9 slackness free), he's still got something to offer this music. This is a very enjoyable deejay set - with a good selection of rhythms and some really great lyrics.
