We hope you all enjoyed our performances of "Broadway Kids" on Thursday. While it was a major undertaking for pupils and staff, we are all delighted with the result. The children were outstanding, as was the Middleton Grange facilities. We appreciate all the positive comments we have received regarding the show.
This annual Mathematical problem solving competition changed venue this year, and was held in the CBS Arena. St. Michael's was represented by the following teams:
Year 8: Saskia Klinkenberg, Madeline Kendrew, Freddy Wilson, & Henry Rouch.
Year 7: Taylor Keys, Vincent Kenworthy, Nicholas Stevens, & William Chambers.
After our School missing the 2010 contest because of our Northern Tour, both teams found the competition challenging, but I was extremely proud of the way the teams competed. On a related note, it was good to see some past St. Michael's pupils scattered among the Year 9 and 10 competitions.
We have now finished finished the five sets of this annual Problem Challenge. Top scorers, with scores out of 25 are:
Madeline Kendrew Y8 23
Taylor Keys Y7 23
Saskia Klinkenberg Y8 22
Freddy Wilson Y8 20
Vincent Kenworthy Y7 19
Henry Rouch Y8 17
Our top finishers will be offered the opportunity to compete in the Final Challenge.
