Program Information:

Monsignor Slade Field Hockey participates in the Anne Arundel County Fall sports program. Fees for the 2019 season are as follows:
  • $65 for Sticklettes
  • $125 for Pee Wee (includes jersey)
  • $125 for Middie (includes jersey)
  • $125 for Juniors  (includes jersey)
Fees are used to pay for team equipment, jerseys, uniform socks, county fees and officiating fees. Fee for Sticklettes also includes uniform T-shirt.
 
 
Points of Interest:
  • Practice will begin the first week in August at Glen Burnie High School
  • Evaluations for Junior and Middie (if needed) teams will be in August
  • Game schedule will be posted on the Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks website.
  • Games typically start the first week of September and end by November.
  • All games are played in Anne Arundel County.

 

Uniforms:

 

This coming season all players will receive a new Slade uniform jersey.  Once purchased and if the uniform is kept in good condition, your player will be able to use the jersey in following seasons.  Uniforms for Pee Wee, Middie and Junior teams are included in the fee. 


We will attempt to honor number requests.  Please provide your top 3 number choices at registration.  The uniform jersey will also include the player’s last name on the back.


Girls may wear solid black shorts or black skort. If you don’t already have a skort and would like to purchase one, these will be available for purchase at registration.




 





Equipment Needed:

  • Outdoor field hockey stick
  • Protective eye wear
    • Both polycarbonate lens style and wire frame style protective eye wear are acceptable for county play. They must meet the ASTM F2713-09 safety standard.
  • Shin guards
  • Colored (not clear) mouth guard, please avoid red

  

Divisions:
  • Sticklette: Kindergarten through 2nd grade
    • Play 6 v 6 on a 50 yard grass playing field.
    • 4 - 10 minute quarters with a running clock.
    • Games are played on weekdays and weekends.
  • Pee Wee: 3rd grade through 4th grade
    • Play 7 v 7 on a half size turf/grass field.
    • 2 - 20 minute halves with a running clock.
    • Play 12 season games.
    • Games are played on weekdays and weekends.
  • Middie: 5th grade through 6th grade
    • Play 11 v 11 on full size turf fields.
    • 2 - 25 minute halves.
    • 10 season games followed by single elimination playoffs
    • Games are played on weekdays and weekends.
  • Junior: 7th grade through 8th grade
    • Play 11 v 11 on full size turf fields.
    • 2 - 25 minute halves.
    • 10 season games followed by single elimination playoffs
    • Games are played on weekdays and weekends.
