We need all parents to volunteer! Without volunteers on race day, we won't be able to run quality races. Race volunteers receive a lift ticket for the day that they work plus a voucher good for another lift ticket good anytime during the season.
Race Day Volunteers:
The races are run through the joint effort of the member teams of the OSSA. Each race requires about 40 volunteers in addition to the volunteer race officials and coaches. It is critical that all parents volunteer during the season for the races to be successful. We need gate judges, crossing guards, hand timers, etc. Please see the race volunteer page at the OSSA website for more information and to sign up. Volunteer training sessions will held on Jan 9. Attend any one to learn about being a race volunteer. Please submit OSSA Volunteer Wavier at the training session.
Pre-Race Dinner Hosts:
The traditional pre-race Pasta Feed on Friday nights is always a fun event for the athletes and parents to get together without ski clothes. Whether it's a big batch of pasta or your house specialty, the host typically provides the main dish while everyone else brings salads, sides, drinks, desserts etc. Please contact the parent rep if you can host a get together.
Ah, the dreaded fundraising. It's an unfortunately a reality with the school budgets but we're fortunate that the school district is still able to support us to a great extent. Our fundraising need this year is with the replacement of broken gates, team sweatshirts/jacket and end of year team awards. The Central Oregon teams are also planning to race one day at Lakeview and will need a travel budget. Please refer to the Wish List to see our goals and contact the parent rep to coordinate efforts.
