No Fail Pie Crust~

3 cups flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon sugar

1 1/4 cups cold butter, shortening or a combination (I used 1 cup butter and 1/4 cup shortening), cut into pieces

1 egg slightly beaten

5 tablespoons ice water

1 tablespoon cider vinegar


In food processor, pulse together flour, salt and sugar.  Add butter/shortening and pulse till mixture resembles coarse corn meal.  Mix together egg, water and vinegar.  Add to flour mixture and pulse just until it comes together.  Remove from processor and form into two equal discs, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 30 minutes.  Use as pie recipe directs.
