Adapted from a recipe by Gale Gand
1/2 cup butter
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts, optional
Preheat oven to 350º. Butter 8 x 8 inch pan.
Place chocolate and butter in microwave safe bowl. Gently microwave, stopping and stirring at 30 second increments. When mixture is smooth, add sugar and mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing till well incorporated. Stir in flour and salt. Add nuts if using.
Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake till set, about 40 minutes. Cool before cutting.
