INSOFAR CHESS TOURNAMENT - 10 August 2008
SKBJ Chess Club players who are also Shah Alam Insofar Chess Academy students were participating in the Insofar Chess Tournament held at AMPAC, Bangi on Sunday 10 August 2008. Proudly enough that they had shown dominance in the tournament. Their regular chess class, practice and chess tournaments participation have helped them in defeating their opponents. Fikri won all his 5 games and was the champion. Faqihah lost only a game to score 4 points whereas both Aminur and Anis Fariha lost a game and draw a game and have 3 and a 1/2 points. Faqeh, a SKBJ pre-school student and future SKBJ chess player prospect, had impressed the audience by winning 2 games. Meanwhile, Faqeh's elder sister Farihah, former SKBJ chess player, managed to win 3 games and drew 2 games to score 4 points.
Shah Alam Insofar Chess Academy students and Insofar chess trainers.
So, come on SKBJ students especially those who are the SKBJ Chess Club members to join the Shah Alam Insofar Chess Academy and participate regularly in local chess tournaments. SHOW THAT SKBJ HAS INTELLIGENT AND BRILLIANT STUDENTS WHO WILL BE FUTURE LEADERS!
PERCAWI TOURNAMENT - 27 July 2008
Aminur, Faqihah and Aina had participated in the PERCAWI which stands for PERSATUAN CATUR WILAYAH tournament held at The Chess Network, Wilayah Complex KL on 27 July 2008.
Aminur who competed in Under 12 Boys category missed the cut of the Top 10 by winning 4 games and lost two. He was placed eleventh. By playing more in chess tournaments and practicing harder, he would be level with most of the top 10 players that he may meet during next year's MSS tournament.
Faqihah was placed sixth by scoring three and a half points in Under 9 Girls category. She has to improve her game to challenge the Puteri sisters who are among top local girls chess players.
Aina was placed eighth by scoring three points in Under 12 Girls category. She has to improve her games to challenge Najiha and Camilia, which are among the strong girls chess players in the country and have international experience.
SHAH ALAM INSOFAR TOURNAMENT - 29 Jun 2008
On 29 Jun 2008, Shah Alam Insofar Chess Academy held a chess tournament at Teacher's Z Tuition Center, Bukit Jelutong. Aminur had an upset win over Fikri who many expected to be the champion. In chess, age and experience are not the main factors to determine the winning. Good for Aminur who has practiced hard and participated regularly in chess tournament. Fikri has to less focus on chess due to the UPSR exam he will sit this year (2008). So, anything can happen in chess. Anyone who learn and practice hard in chess will be successful and be champion.
