Bio (broadly from google+)

After a Philosophy & Psychology BSc at Leeds I worked for a bit on school data, and started an MA in Philosophy of Education at the IoE, which I continued while doing teacher training at the IoE.

The MA looked at the implications of 'extended mind' on our view of knowledge (see http://xkcd.com/903/) and the educational assessment of that knowledge (supervised by Jan Derry). Particularly interesting in a world with pretty pervasive access to the internet, and given that Denmark allows access to it in some of their exams.

After a year teaching Philosophy & Psychology A-level, I'm now going on to a PhD which will look at the empirical side of my Ma, using psychological methods to explore the skills at play in search behaviours in young people.  I'm particularly interested in the sorts of knowledge used, and 'creditworthy' in these contexts, and their relationship to epistemic beliefs, and discourse.  I'm stating the MPhil on that based at Darwin College, Cambridge supervised by Neil Mercer
