Current Unit: Global Food Policy

Students are studying the implications of trade policy on what we eat and what we know about what we eat.  They will look at the benefits and consequences to food technology and global patents. They will ask who's reponsibility is it to make sure our food supply is secure - safe to eat and accessible to all. We have engaged in teaser activities, film, reading, journaling, research. They will read articles  and create poltical cartoons. Previous Unit: War Media & Democracy

What do we know? What do we think we Know?  Whose responsibility is it to inform us? We are examining the US role in Iraq and the role of the citizens and the media in a democracy in times of war.  we will be looking at issues of perspective and knowledge.  we will ehar from the US government, US soldiers, and Iraqi citizens throughout this unit.  Students will engage in simulations, role plays, read government documents, narratives,  & contemporary political analysis, research and evaluate web sites and watch films to prepare them to draw their own conclusions.
