I'm a senior manager heading Alexa Machine Learning (speech recognition) group at Amazon, India. Main accomplishments of our group are:

1. Delivered the speech recognition technology for launching Alexa (Echo devices) in India.
2. Owned Alexa's speech recognition technology for all English locales (except US/CA) and upcoming launches.
3. Prototyped state-of-the-art speech recognition system for Amazon Transcribe (AWS) service.
4. Improved Alexa's core speech recognition technology.

I've obtained PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Center for Language and Speech Processing at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA in 2012. And Master of Engineering in Signal Processing from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India in 2006. I've a rigorous theoretical understanding and pragmatic hands-on experience in building state-of-the-art speech recognition systems. I've several US patents in the area of machine learning/speech recognition. Recently, I served as an Area Chair for the Interspeech-2018.
