ORDERING & FAQs

General Policy On All Orders

Please note the following:

  • Occasionally shipping errors occur.  It is the member's responsibility to double-check that their order (the items and quantities) matches their invoice before leaving the pick-up location.  If something is missing please notify us before paying for the order.  If a member leaves the pick-up location without notifying us we may not be able to get, or give, the appropriate credit for the missing item.
  • A $25 late pickup fee will apply to any order that is not picked up during the time specified for order pickups.  We recognize that our pickup times are limited and may not work for everyone, but until we have the capability to store orders or make deliveries, we have to minimize late pickups.  We encourage members to ask a friend or family member to help out and pick up up your order (with payment) if you cannot make it. Thank you!!

and in our Calendar of Events page.

A few notes about Blue Valley Meats:

  • If you order a large amount of meats (say, half a cow), Blue Valley would appreciate the order be placed two weeks prior to the order deadline so that they have time to process and package everything to your specifications.
  • * Blue Valley is a full service butcher shop (remember those days anyone?).  That means you can tell them how you want your meats cut, what spices to add to your sausages, etc.  You can also call them up and ask them questions about various cuts.  They take pride in their personal service.
  • You cannot order raw milk through Blue Valley. Currently, federal law prohibits sale of raw milk across state lines.
  •   All other dairy products are shipped frozen.  Blue Valley wraps milk jugs in plastic bags and ships them with the rest of the order in the freezer container.

Once a month, due by 3 PM on the Friday ordering deadline posted on this website’s home page
and in our Calendar of Events page.

How to order?
  1. Create a foodclub account (skip to #2 if you already have one): Go to: foodclub.org/sitkafoodcoop and register for your own account.  Note: It can take up to 24 hours to have your account activated, so sign up before you are ready to place your order. If you have questions or problems, email us at: sitkafoodcoop@gmail.com
  2. Login to foodclub.org/sitkafoodcoop with your existing user name and password.
  3. Click on the “Source” menu in the very upper right corner (preset to United Natural Foods/UNFI) and click on Equal Exchange.
  4. Click on "Order" in the menu.  Use the category buttons (e.g., “Box Teas", "Bulk Coffees,”  etc.) to browse products.  Once you find an item you want, enter the quantity and click “add.” Note: the Order page is for full case orders, or single items which are small enough to order by yourself (as opposed to splitting an item with others).
  5. Click on “Splits” in the menu.  You can post requests for partial case orders and if enough other people order it will be added to the Final order that will be sent to the distributor.  (Hint:  The earlier you post your request for a split the more people will see it and the better chances it will be filled!)

A few notes about foodclub.org:
•    There is no SUBMIT button. Anything in your cart will be ordered when the next order is placed.
•    Split orders that are not filled will not be ordered. You can see when a case is full when the item changes from red to black.
•    If you had a split item in your cart that did not get ordered, it will be deleted after the order is placed. If you want it next time, you have to add it again.
•    Note:  As produce is a "variable weight" item, splitting a bulk order by the pound means final weight of - and number of items in - your order will vary somewhat.   Your invoice will be adjusted accordingly when we put your order together on our delivery days.

Is membership required to order?
No.  However, non-members pay an additional 10% on their order total.  And why not join?  It's easy to sign up and only costs $25 a year.  Sign up now! Become a member today!
