Changing colors

You can change website colors in several ways:
Change overall colors on your website:
  1. be sure you are signed in to your Google Site
  2. click on more button
  3. click on "Manage Site" 
  4. on the left side of screen, click on Themes, Colors, and Fonts
  5. in the center section of the screen (in the red square in the image on the right), you can alter the following colors:Mange Site, Colors and Fonts
    1. Entire page: background color and link colors
    2. Site header: title color, header background color
    3. Content area: text color, title color, content background color
    4. Content area gadgets: text color, link color, background color, header text color, header background color
    5. Sidebar gadgets: text color, link color, background color, header text color, header background color
    6. Navigation gadget: text color
    7. Horizontal navigation: text color, hover text color, hover background color, selected text color, selected background color
    8. Horizontal navigation dropdown menu: text color, background color

Change colors in the html:

  1. be sure you are signed in to your Google Site
  2. click on the pencil edit screen pencil to edit the page
  3. click on <HTML> to edit page html
  4. for the section of html you want to edit, you can use words, rgb values, or HEX values for colors (for more on rgb and HEX values, see here). For example, for each type, Red would be: redrgb(255,0,0), or #ff0000, respectively
  5. you can change colors of many items in HTML, including :
    1. BACKGROUND COLOR: "background-color:red" or "background-color:rgb(255,0,0)" or "background-color:#ff0000" 
       
      example: <div style ="background-color:red">red background</div>
      red background

    2. FONT COLOR: font color ="red" or font color ="rgb(255,0,0)" or font color ="#ff0000"
          
      example: <font color="red"> Red text</font>
      Red text
  6. you can also modify html colors in text boxes, which you can add to the content and sidebar areas
