What is CLARION?

CLARION Competition Emphasizes the Importance of Interprofessional Experiences. Students from various MUSC colleges will form a team and delve into a case study of a sentinel event to find root cause analysis and provide recommendations to improve patient health outcomes. The winning MUSC team advances to the national competition at the University of Minnesota to compete.


Important Dates: Informational meetings on 1/22 at noon and 4:30 pm

  • January 29th – Team sign ups close, alternate list available until 2/2

  • January 25th – Case opens

  • February 5th - Team and advisor dinner at 5:30pm in Gazes Auditorium

  • February 24th - All materials due to judges by 5pm

  • February 27th - Top 3 teams announced

  • March 5th - Final 3 teams present at Storm eye starting at 5:30pm           

  • April 11th – 12th - National Competition in Minneapolis, MN
