The Student Intellectual Property Society at Virginia Tech is an organization of undergraduate and graduate students dedicated to learning about intellectual property issues, and promoting an awareness of the subject among the general student body.  The main goals are:

1) Inform the students on intellectual property and its relation to them, 

2) Encourage more Virginia Tech students to enter the intellectual property career field, and 

3) Promote an awareness of how intellectual property affects the innovation process.  

In additionm members of the Society have the opportunity to participate in other activities such as the IP Ambassadors missions, intellectual property internships, professional development services, and an annual trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and several prominent intellectual property law firms.
