2024 Information
The Sioux Falls West Volleyball Club is an organization that strives to create a competitive environment for girls in and around the Sioux Falls area who want to improve their volleyball skills and broaden their experience.
When does practice start?
January - (season is approx 14-16 weeks long depending on age)
How often do we practice?
All teams (12U - 17U) will practice twice a week for 1.5-2 hours each.
Open Gyms and Skills Sessions will be held on Friday's when gym space is available. These are optional but encouraged to attend when the player is able.
When do we practice? Practices will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30pm-8:30pm or 7:15pm-9:00pm.
Where is practice?
Depending on age/team, practice will be held at one of the following school gyms:
Discovery Elementary
Memorial Middle School
McGovern Middle School
Fee structure? If your child is selected after tryouts to move up an age level, they will be required to pay the rate at the team (age) they are selected for. The 2024 fees are to be set, but below is what was paid in 2023:
12U: Club dues of $500 (plus addt'l NCR fee of $50 paid directly by player) for 6 regional tournaments, 1 of those being a 2-day tournament (in Sioux Falls and within 4 hours distance)
13U-14U: Club dues of $600 (plus addt'l NCR fee of $50 paid directly by player) for 7 regional tournaments, 2 of those being 2-day tournaments, (in Sioux Falls and within 4 hours distance)
15U-17U: Club dues of $700 (plus addt'l NCR fee of $50 paid directly by player) for 7 regional tournaments, 4 of those being 2-day tournaments, (in Sioux Falls and within 4 hours distance)
What do the fees cover?
The fees cover the cost of tournament registrations, NCR/USAV & JVA insurance, coach salaries and travel and equipment
The club also has a separate fee when we register with NCR and USAV for insurance - this is included in your fees.
Every player will receive a Sioux Falls West Volleyball warm-up shirt/pullover.
Fundraising opportunities will be available as OPTIONAL and those help offset costs throughout the season.
What additional costs can I anticipate?
The fees do not include an individual fee assessed by NCR to register, each player will have to pay a separate fee ($50) when they register this year.
Uniforms -- if your player has a black/white/gold SF West jersey that they can use again this year, they are able to reuse them. Otherwise, players will need to purchase new jerseys (the board will coordinate order) along with socks, shoes, knee pads and shorts to be purchased on your own.
Travel expenses will need to be covered by players family. Parents/guardians will be responsible for getting players to and from tournaments including any hotel stays. Team parents will coordinate hotel room blocks for you to utilize for cost savings.

Teams will consist of 8-10 players
When do we find out if we made a team?
The 12U - 14U teams will be posted within 24 hours of the end of tryouts. Players must accept their position by completing registration through the Sports Engine link that will be provided via e-mail within 48 hours of roster posting.
The 15U - 17U teams will be posted within 24 hours of the end of tryouts. Players must accept their position by completing registration through the Sports Engine link that will be provided via e-mail within 48 hours of roster posting.
All players should check the website for updates on team rosters.

Registration
The registration form will be available at least 30 days prior to tryouts.
Tryout fee is $45 for online pre-registration using the Registration form on our website; $55 for walk-in registration the day of tryouts.
Payment
Your club dues must be paid through Sports Engine through the acceptance registration link that will be provided. Through Sports Engine, you will have the option to pay your club dues in one payment or two payments. If you choose to make two payments, we will collect half of the dues on the day of acceptance registration and the second half of dues will be automatically deducted on 1-1-24.
Fan Gear
The Spirit Wear store will be available prior to Christmas and will reopen in January for one final order. Once the store is closed, it will remain closed for the season.
