about me

I'm now a staff scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, after spending 3 years doing a postdoc at UC Berkeley and the Lab. My PhD was obtained from the ETH, Switzerland having commenced my studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. My PhD work in the Spaldin group (now called Materials Theory), investigated novel physics in hexagonal manganites and ferropnictides using both first principles methods and analytical techniques.

I am originally from Ireland, where I completed my B.A. in Theoretical Physics at Trinity College Dublin. Following that, I spent a year in London at Imperial College for my MSc in Quantum Fields and Fundamental Forces.

My interests in science are broad and varied; from high energy physics to condensed matter.
