Q: I would like to audition for a music scholarship. How do I do this?
A: Contact Simpson College's Admissions department here. They will set you up!
Q: What degree programs do you have?
A: We offer a Bachelor of Arts Degree, as well as a Bachelor of Music in both education and performance.
Q: When can I audition?
A: We have an official Fall and Spring audition day (TBA), and we encourage you to make these dates if at all possible. If not, we are happy to make other arrangements to hear you (typically during weekday noon hours) anytime during the semester.
Q: I don't want to major in music. Can I just play in the bands?
Q: When are auditions for the ensembles held?
A: Auditions are held at the beginning of the year, typically in the first week of school.
Q: Can I just play in jazz ensemble?
A: All jazz ensemble members are required to play in the Symphonic Band.
Q: How often do you tour? Where do you go?
A: The Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble tour every two years. We typically tour for 3-4 days throughout the MidWest. Our last tour was to Chicago.
Q: How big is your Symphonic Band?
A: The Symphonic Band fluctuates between 60 and 80 members each year.
Q: Can I play in band and sing in choir?
