“…Simone, the AAPS students need you on the Board because of your impact on your fellow Trustees as well as because of your direct impact on programs affecting students…”

– Trustee Glenn Nelson

After having been both appointed (2009) and elected (2010) as Trustee to the Ann Arbor Board of Education, it is with great pride that I seek re-election to a four-year term. I love the work and have the necessary experience to effectively address our issues.

As a home grown product of the Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS), I value our regarded reputation.  I understand our community, its great appeal and its challenges.  More than just listening, my commitment has been to act while enlisting citizens in the work of the school board.  Be they seasoned residents or new to the area, delighted or disgruntled, affluent or resource challenged, I embrace the honor of serving this district.

Lastly, it is both an honor and a privilege to work with my six colleagues serving the families of the very school system that educated both my husband and I and now our two children.  From across the district’s 125-sq. miles all the way to Lansing, it is with great pride that I continue to advocate for the students of the Ann Arbor Public Schools with bold diplomacy.

I Ask For Your Vote November 8, 2011.
