Mechanical Modelling

...or, return to  Home Page

I use a soft called Blender : Free, intuitive, addictive, a real gas-works... I like to make mechanical, engineering images, for, as they say, "If you can't draw it you can't build it..."

Having been an Horologist for thirty years I am naturally inclined to make models of the mechanisms I have come across over the years. Such models also make excellent, lightweight cyclic animations.

Blender also lends itself to flights of fancy: Here are a set of sub-pages, divided into categories.

Horology  -  mechanisms of many kinds.

Engineering   -  privileging the exploded view, and see-through steel...

The Irish Rover - A musical dream...

Some Architectures  -  outside the box...

The Ellipsograph  -  An exercise in restraints.

Flights  - some of those flights of fancy...
