Platform 5 - Talyllyn Railway

Trains run throughout the season -

see their website for timetable

Here is a selection of photos of TR trains and views, taken on 3rd October 1970.  They were taken on a very basic Ilford Sportsman, a 35mm camera with small fixed lens.  Film was standard Kodachrome slide film.

The first picture is of No. 6 passing the blockpost at Quarry Siding with an up train.  It is AGM weekend, and the vintage stock is in use.

Next is a view of Pendre from the points at the Wharf end of the layout.  Still open country in 1970, before new carriage sheds and the blockpost  were built.

Here is a view of the then Pendre ground frame before redevelopment and the new Blockpost.

The North Carriage Shed.

No. 6, Douglas, at Pendre during the afternoon.

Finally. No 4, Edward Thomas, passes with a down train as  No 3, Sir Haydn, blows off steam excitedly!
