Platform 4 - Buildings

Taynuilt station, in Scotland, pictured on 10th July 1974.

Here is Bourne End station in 1973.  The line to High Wycombe has closed, the footbridge has gone, and the line is blocked by a solid wall where the level crossing used to be.  This was attacked a couple of times by wayward DMUs and is now protected by TPWS and a set of buffers.

Another view, taken 14th July 1977, from the other end of the platforms.  The canopy has been tidied up, revealing more of the Wycombe Railway building.  Still in place is the small shelter on the Up platform - this is now part of Bill McAlpine's collection at Fawley. The area of trees on the left of the picture - the old Marlow bay - has since been redeveloped.

On the left is the station building, looking towards Oban.  Above is a carving on the building, showing the Callander and Oban Railway initials and the date - 1879.
