The therapist uses play to help the young patient relieve stress, understand illness, communicate fears, undergo treatment. Hospital situations using play therapy range from helping a child learn to swallow medicine to helping her learn to live with her illness and prognosis
Alpha Kappa not only contributes to our national foundation but does more. As a chapter we join together to create cards and letters to send to our soldiers overseas. We also make sock puppets for the children's hospital at Ruby Memorial in Morgantown, Wv. We have also assisted the Ronald McDonald House in raising money for research on cancer. We are always helping the community in anyway we can and you can be apart of it!
