Wild & Scenic Film Festival a Success

On April 19, the Connecticut Sierra Club held its first Wild & Scenic Film Festival. There were thirteen films of adventure, activism, and youth in climate change action. The film festival brought out 130 outdoor and environmental enthusiasts! We’re already looking forward to next year. It looks good for us to make this an annual Earth Day event going by the response of our guests.

We had a bake sale and only two muffins were left! We have some great bakers in the Sierra Club. We were also grateful to REI and Patagonia for donating the camping chairs and light down jackets for the raffle.

We learned a few things to make next year’s film festival bigger and better. We will plan for two nights instead of one.  We’ll be looking for two locations; maybe around Hartford and one along the shoreline. If you know of any auditorium or theater with comfortable seats and HD A/V equipment, email us at connecticut.chapter@sierraclub.org.
