Sid's visit to Switzerland - Easter 2007

Some photos of a memorable visit that I wish to share with friends and communities alike... Hope you enjoy visiting this page!

My trip to Switzerland was limited to the scenic city of Lucerne and the beautiful hills and villages that surround this town. I don't need to talk much about this trip and will simply let the photos do the talking...

Taking a long walk is a custom that I never fail to follow when visiting a new place. In doing so, I invariably end up discovering new views that a city has to offer...

Lucerne is a pretty town with a scenic landscape and very fulfilling walk still left me wanting for more. So, I rented a bike to discover the Swiss Countryside... A 20 km ride that gave me some really splendid views -

Lucerne is flanked by some majestic mountains like Mount Rigi, Mount Titlis and Mount Pilatus. The last has been captured from a café at the banks of the Vierwaldstättersee...

Would you believe me if I told you that on this day, the weather at Lucerne was cloudy and overcast but at such a high altitude, it was sunny and beautiful...

I took a cable car ride to Mount Titlis, 10000 ft above sea-level...

(Yes, I had a difficult time keeping my eyes open as the snow clad peaks reflect a lot more sunshine than one gets at lower levels!)

If I ever thought for a moment that I had seen one of the best views in my life then in the next minutes I would see another that would better the former...

Here is me again (an aberration in the lanscape, I agree)...

One outcome of this trip was my decision to learn skiing next winter...

Everything that goes up comes down, and this rule applied to me as well. I had to return to Lucerne, but who's complaining if the night looks like this -

In the day time, I also encountered some cute-looking Scottish Highland Bulls (or Cows?)...

(Yes, he actually has a comb in his hands... )

Time was coming for me to leave Lucerne... And here is a photo taken near the train station where I dropped my bicycle, before walking to my car and returning home to Deutschland -

Switzerland is really expensive but the views are very often worth it! I've been living next door for four years now and till recent past had visited almost every west-european country save for this one... I'd say 2007 will see some more visits and I can't just wait to plan my next long weekend!

On that note,  I shall leave you with this last view...

 Au revoir!
