Exhibition Royal Theatre Carré 125 Years

On the occasion of the celebration of 125 years Koninklijk Theater Carré, both the Theater Instituut Nederland (TIN) and the Special Collections Department of the Universiteit van Amsterdam have mounted an exhibition on the rich and diverse history of this famous Dutch theatre.  1887 Circus Oscar Carré chose the banks of the river Amstel for settling a permanent home, and since then the theatre has served as a prominent centre for circus, performing arts, dance, opera, musicals and one man shows. The exhibition will focus on the rich variety of Carré’s history, alongside with a selection of footage (film, newsreels, video recordings of shows)  that surely will please the visitors.
