Obituary: Oskar Pausch

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that former Director of the Austrian Theatre Museum and SIBMAS President, Dr. Oskar Pausch, passed away shortly before his 76th birthday on May 15th.
Under the direction of Oskar Pausch, the Theatre Collection of the Austrian National library evolved to become the Austrian Theatre Museum at his current location, the Lobkowitz Palace in Wien.  He directed the museum from 1980 until 1997, and published more than 120 texts on German language and literature, theatre and musicology.
Oskar was also an active President of Sibmas between 1988 and 1992 and many of us will have fond memories of his presence at numerous SIBMAS-conferences or even remember him saying hello at our conference in Vienna 2006.
