Escape Rooms are all the rage these days, and professional facilities are popping up all over. The best professional escape experiences have rich stories, intricate set design, cunning use of technology, and innovative puzzles. These environment oriented activities are suitable for a wide variety of locations from schools and libraries to museums, and are appropriate both as entertainment activities and even as training or team building exercises.

Join us for the ShushCon Escape Room Creation Workshop, the morning of Friday March 10th, hosted by the Georgetown County Library System in association with the Games in Schools and Libraries Podcast. At the workshop we will share the basics of escape room design how to build an engaging experience for your patrons without breaking the bank. When it is over you will have helped create your own escape activity and have a portfolio of resources that take the stress out of creating future event.

Once the workshop is over stay for ShushCon - a full weekend of games and hands-on escape room activities including both table-top and room-scale escapes.

Breakout EDU Kit will be awarded to one of our Escape Room Creation Workshop participants.  (A $125 value.)

Register now for free!

This Escape Room Creation Workshop will be useful for activity coordinators of any stripe, including librarians, teachers, museum staff, out of school time caregivers, or even HR managers. Participants are encouraged to bring props, locks, or other items they'd like to include in their escape room creations.

Their ESCAPE TO THE LIBRARY presentation was the foundation of the January 2017 SC State Library Teen Services Exchange about integrating escape rooms activities into the library programming. ESCAPE TO THE LIBRARY includes an overview about what escape rooms are and how venues like libraries, schools, or museums, could utilize escape rooms at their facilities as well as the challenges they might face when offering this unique form of patron engagement.

ShushCon is a games and geekery convention March 10th, 11th, & 12th, 2017 at the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library in Pawleys Island, SC.
