I received my PhD in 2016 from the Department of Mathematics at the Ohio State University. My thesis advisor is Prof. Jean-François Lafont. After that, I had a three year postdoc position at Indiana University working with Prof. Chris Connell. During 2019-2020, I visited Dr. Grigori Avramidi at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn. Then during 2021-2022, I did my last (hopefully) postdoc at Michigan State University with Prof. Ben Schmidt.
I have broad interests in the areas of differential geometry, geometric topology, geometric group theory and dynamical systems. I am particularly interested in Gromov norm (simplicial volume) and bounded cohomology of non-positively curved spaces. Besides, I study the (infinite volume) discrete isometry subgroups of Hadamard manifolds, especially on how the critical exponent interacts with the geometry and topology of the quotient manifold. More recently, I got interested to the signature theory (iterated integral methods) and its potential applications in rough path theory, financial math, and knot theory. Here is my CV (updated 12/14/2025).
