"Colleen Ione Wilson was born September 24, 1927, at Mankato, Kansas, She attended the Mankato Public Schools, where she was a popular student, and involved in many activities. -- She grew to young womanhood in the Mankato community, and on May 15, 1943, she was married to Waldo Wilson, and the young couple established their home at Ionia, Kansas, where she continued to reside until her untimely death on February 22, 1976, at the age of 48 years, 4 months, and 29 days. -- Colleen is survived by her husband, Roger Rooker of Topeka; Kevin, of Topeka, Amy, and her husband, Roy Arasmith, and family of Jewell; and Kirk , of the home; two grandchildren; her mother, Lucille Montgomery, and her husband, D. O. Montgomery of Saugus, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Donna Moss, and her husband, Bill Moss of Canyon Country, Calif.; her mother- and father-in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Clyde Wilson of Ionia; and her grandmother, Mrs. M. L. Shively, of Mankato; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard "Jack" Shively. -- Only a few months ago, Colleen was stricken with an incurable illness, and despite all that medical skill, and the loving care of her husband and other members of her family could do, she was relieved of her suffering, and called to eternal rest on February 22, 1976, at her home in Ionia. -- Colleen had a wide circle of friends in this community, all of whom recognized her as a loving wife and mother, and faithful friend; her passing will be mourned by all who knew and loved her. -- Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Ionia, Kansas, on Wednesday, February 25, 1976 with the Rev. Sidney Dillinger officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Margaret Rose. Casket bearers were Robert Wilson, Bud Boden, Don Schmidt, Harold Shoemaker, Cecil Hillman, Rex Henningsen. Interment was in the Ionia Cemetery. Kramer Funeral Home of Mankato was in charge of arrangements.".

She moved from Mankato to Ionia, in southern Jewell county, about 25 years ago. -- Surviving are the widower, Waldo; 2 sons, Kirk, of the home, and Kevin, Topeka; 2 daughters, Mrs. Amy Arasmith, Jewell, and Mrs. Andrew Rooker, Topeka; hre mother, Mrs. Lucille Montgomery, Saugus, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Donna Moss, Saugus, and 2 grandchildren. -- Burial will be in Ionia cemetery. Friends may call at the Kramer funeral home, Mankato, until 11 am Wednesday.".
