Librarians are research teachers.
Information literacy is an absolutely essential lifeskill. Now more than ever, students must be prepared to face the current information landscape with a critical eye and an informed perspective.  

The instructional goal of the library is to prepare all students to become effective lifelong users of information. These curricular goals are based on standards established by the Massachusetts School Library Association and the American Association of School Librarians The Big6 model shown below frames these goals.
