Dr. Sherif A. Masoud is a Senior Operations Research Scientist at Georgia-Pacific and an Adjunct Faculty member at Kennesaw State University. He specializes in applying advanced analytics, optimization and machine learning to solve complex problems in supply chain and manufacturing systems.
Dr. Masoud earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University where he partnered with industry leaders through the Center for Excellence in Logistics and Distribution (CELDi) and Fiatech initiatives. His dissertation, Integrated Models and Algorithms for Automotive Supply Chain Optimization, reflects his deep interest in practical problem-solving through mathematical modeling and computational techniques.
He has over a decade of experience working with global organizations across the automotive, packaging and consumer goods industries. His past roles include engineering project management at a BMW manufacturing plant as well as technical and analytical positions at Sealed Air, Nestlé, Honeywell, Norfolk Southern, WestRock and Koch Industries.
Dr. Masoud holds an MBA in Finance from the American University in Cairo in addition to an M.S. in Industrial Engineering and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He also participated in international and graduate programs at Penn State and the University of Cincinnati. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2008.
