I am a Ph.D. student in Political Science at University of California, Merced. I am interested in the interplay between domestic politics and international politics with focuses on political economy, authoritarianism, and East-Asia. I think the boundary between comparative politics and international relation is very permeable. State’s behaviors including foreign policy decisions are not simply determined by economic or governmental factors, but a complex domestic mechanism connecting many determinates. In my recent working paper: “Explaining Chinese Foreign Aid Allocation: Private Goods and State Owned Enterprise”, I connect domestic actors, authoritarian regime, and foreign aid policy together.
