The WinterFaith Shelter Walk scheduled for Sunday, October 30, 2016 was cancelled due to inclement weather and safety concerns for our walkers. Nonetheless, sponsorships and pledges raised over $18,000 for the shelter. The inclement weather was a powerful reminder of conditions faced by the homeless on our streets, and our duty to shelter and feed them. Click here for the 2016 Walk Supporters. Flour sack towels with the San Francisco Interfaith Council logo and certificates of appreciation were distributed at the June 2016 Monthly Breakfast Meeting of the San Francisco Interfaith Council (SFIC) to all participating shelter volunteer organizations.
The Interfaith Winter Shelter season 2016-2017 will commence on Sunday, November 20, 2016 and conclude on Friday, March 31, 2017. If your congregation/ organization is interested in preparing and serving meals at the Interfaith Winter Shelter, you may sign up here.
