From the Pastor

FROM THE PASTOR - God is so wonderful to give us summer.  I hope you are enjoying yours as much as we are.  General NMI (mission convention) was awesome.  God is doing praiseworthy things all over the world.  Did you know there are now more Nazarene members in Africa than in North America?  We need to rejoice and give thanks that we are part of a church that believes in the commission to go into all the world and make disciples. Please pray that God would help us to be active in missions here at home as well.

I want to invite you to take an active role in praying and supporting those who are going to help in the new start in Mattoon. Jake and Makenzie Rentfro along with Kevin and Nancy Miller have already been working with the launch team for @The Well ministries.  I will certainly have some sorrow in their leaving but it is overshadowed by the joy I have in watching them walk in faith with Jesus.  Let them know that you will continue to be part of their calling even as they continue to make a difference in our community and move on to a new ministry priority.

I invite you to look again to Jesus and ask how we can best serve Him.  We are asking for new ideas and strategies to reach our mission field.  Maybe God has a bigger role for you to play?  He is doing great things and I want to make sure we are part of it.
