We have provided a list of useful websites, resources and studies for various conditions we see regularly at Sheira Chan Acupuncture. These studies are meant to show the effectiveness of Acupuncture as a treatment modality. It is not the only therapy available but it is the one we use. However treatment and our health requires a multi-pronged treatment approach. One treatment modality may not be sufficient. Sheira works with a number of other therapists who can support your Acupuncture treatment and she may refer you if she feels you need additional support.  If you are interested in other therapies and would like to know more please ask Sheira or have a look at Other Therapies page

In their May 2009 report on "Low back pain - Early management of persistent non-specific low back pain" the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellent (NICE) has suggested GPs' should consider offering patients a course of Acupuncture for managing low back pain. (This report is currently being updated when it is published we shall update our links)
