Soup Kitchen

Join us as we cook, serve and share a meal one Sunday night a month at the Evanston Homeless Shelter, Hilda’s Place*. Our dinners provide much needed nutritional and emotional support to 15-25 residents each week.
Volunteer opportunities include any or all of the following:
  • Cooks. Prepare the meal at the shelter from 5:30 to 7pm.
  • Servers. Serve food at the shelter from 6:45 to 8:30pm.
  • Washers. Clean the cooking utensils and surfaces at the shelter from 6:45 to 8:30pm.

*Hilda’s Place is a transitional shelter providing residential and employment assistance at the Lake Street Church, at Lake and Chicago Avenues.

Mather Pavilion

Join us as we play board games and card games with the elderly residents of Mather Pavilion one Friday evening each month. They love the company! Meet at 6:10 pm in the Sheil Commons or at Mather itself. For more information contact sheil.gya@gmail.com.
