What we do...
The Wilder Lab at Oklahoma State University will study integrative ecology of arthropod communities to better understand the connections between animal physiology, behavior, populations, and communities.  Much of this work is on carnivores, especially carnivorous arthropods, although we work on a range of other study systems.

Spiders

Spiders are abundant and widespread predators with strong prey capture adaptations and sensitive sensory systems. These traits make them exciting to study.

Ants

Ants are some of the most damaging invasive species worldwide. Mutualisms in which ants gain carbohydrate resources may contribute to their invasive success and damage to native communities.

Insect Communities

Arthropod food webs are complex and can be difficult to quantify. Understanding why animals feed on particular species and not other can help predict feeding interactions and, hence, food web structure.
