About us

SHARC-FM is a matrix of family medicine educational resources (objectives, point-of-care tools, cases, etc.) that educators and trainees can use to support learning in family medicine.  SHARC-FM is a project of CUFMED (the Canadian Undergraduate Family Medicine Directors) with involvement from all Canadian medical school departments of family medicine with infrastructure support from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.

The manuscript describing our project was published in the April 2017 edition of Canadian Family Physician and can be found here:

Our key target group is Canadian medical students doing clerkship in family medicine, though residents, practicing family physicians, and other health care professionals and trainees have found many of our resources to be useful as well.   The subject areas have been determined through educational research and our materials have followed rigorous design methodology.
