  • Summer Vacation is in sight!
    Here is what is happening during the last three days of school for 8th graders - Please note the change in arrival time for students on the night of promotion.
    • Monday 6/16 - Funtown 
      • The cost for this trip is $15.00. Students should bring their own lunch (from home or ordered through school) or additional money to purchase lunch at Funtown. *Please remember sunscreen and water for your child!
    • Tuesday 6/17 - Field Day
      • Water and sunscreen is highly suggested!
      • No flip-flops are allowed.
    • Wednesday 6/18 12:00-1:45 - BBQ
      • Parents are invited to join us for our end-of-the-year BBQ! Donations will be done by homeroom (hotdogs, buns, sides, drinks, desserts), please talk to your child and have them sign up with their homeroom teacher. If you know you will be joining us, it would be great it you could email us, so we can get an idea of how much food we will need. We hope to see you there!
    • Wednesday 6/18 8th Grade Promotion
      • Students should arrive at 5:20pm. This is different than previously reported! There will be a class photo promptly at 5:30 pm. Your child will be bringing home an order form if you are interested in purchasing a photo.
      • Students are encouraged to dress up for this event and are expected to meet school dress code - Girls should follow the dress code in regards to length of their promotion dresses/skirts. During the ceremony girls must wear either a sweater or wrap if their dresses are spaghetti strap or strapless.
      • Boys should NOT wear t-shirts or jeans
      • The final 8th grade dance will immediately follow the promotion ceremony and students will need to be picked up at 9pm.

  • Looking towards the end of the year!
    Hello,
    The end of the year is quickly approaching, here are the things of which you should be aware:

    • The Lord of the Flies project is due on Wednesday June 4th in LA, students were given 2 weeks of classes to work on it - check in with them and see how they are doing, ask them to explain their project to you.

            • Friday Announcement May 2nd, 2014
              Hello,
              • Next week students will be taking MeCAS test on Tuesday 
              • Smarter Balance tests on Thursday and Friday. 
              • We will also have a Holocaust survivor speaking on Tuesday. 
              • On Thursday we have another guest speaker coming to give perspective of living in German during WWII. 
              • The program of studies for Traip is in process of being finalized and will be posted online when finished. A link to the program of studies for the current school year can be found on the Traip website here
              • Attached is information about the Talent Show May 16 at Traip.
              • On June 16th the 8th grade will be going on their annual Funtown trip. On Wednesday we informed students about the behavior expectations for the rest of the year in order to be eligible to attend. If students receive 3 behavior reflection slips they will not be able to travel with us to Funtown. Behavior reflection slips have a parent signature section and will delineate if it is their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd instance.
