I am an plant biology PhD student interested in the interactions between plants and their environments. My thesis project investigates natural variation in and genetic architecture of the molecular and biochemical phenotypes associated with Zea mays-Fusarium graminearum interactions. I also propose to study the extended ecological implication of Fg root infection on plant defense phenotypes and aboveground herbivore performance. This project is advised by Dr. Georg Jander (chair), Dr. Gary Bergstrom, and Dr. Rebecca Nelson.

My undergraduate research experiences focused on population genetics and phylogenetics of Rhododendron delavayi in southwestern China and eastern Yunnan as well as palynology of the Rhododendron genus.
