I am an plant biology PhD student interested in the interactions between plants and their biotic environments. My current project under the advice of Dr. Georg Jander in the Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant research investigates the three-way interactions between maize (Zea mays), Maize Dwarf Mosaic Virus (MDMV), and its major insect vector, corn leaf aphids (Rhopalosiphum maidis).
My undergraduate research experiences focused on population genetics and phylogenetics of Rhododendron delavayi in southwestern China and eastern Yunnan as well as palynology of the Rhododendron genus.
