He received Master of Science in Engineering of robotics from University of Pennsylvania in 2014. His advisor was Kostas Daniilidis. Before studying in Philadelphia, he received Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Information Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, P.R.China in June 2012, where he was working under the supervision of Wenyu Liu in Multimedia and Communication Lab.
