Abu-Bin-Adam never worshipped God but his name appeared on top of the list of the people whom God Loved, because he served fellow beings and loved them. So also the management and the staff of Shanthidham. They believe in serving the aged people who provide the opportunity to serve. As a matter of practise only the able bodied are admitted. However for short periods if anyone falls sick - which is rare in Shanthidham - the staff provide them full assistance even to the extent of accomodating them in the hospital complex built within the campus for that purpose.

A one story Hospital building inside the campus is used to cater the medical needs of the Residents. The ashram has a tie-up arrangement with the Mahaveer Jain Hospital whose Physicians  visit the ashram  once in a fort-night for the medical check up of the residents

At 6.30 a.m. the bell rings for coffee and at 8.30 a.m. again for a sumptuous breakfast. Lunch is served at 12.30 p.m., tea with snacks at 4.00 p.m. and dinner at 6.30 p.m. before sunset, according to Jain principles. The food is rather bland but nutritious. Onion, garlic and potato are not used again in conformity with Jain traditions. Green & fresh vegetables and fruits are grown at the backyard according to the seasons.

The spacious, well-designed airy dining hall is not only for meals but also a place for the residents to meet. A Colour TV provides entertainment for those who are interested in watching TV but do not own a TV.

Almost once a fortnight, the management arranges for a musical performance/ dance / speech / yoga classes etc. There is a separate open-air theater which is used when the weather permits for conducting these programs.

Daily Cleaning of Rooms, toilet, bathroom, washing of clothes and linen is done.
