Who I Am:
My name is Shana Kai and I'm a junior at the University of Northern Iowa. I am double majoring in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education with a minor in Literacy Education. I was born and raised in a small town in northwest Iowa called Aurelia. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
Why I am going to be a teacher:
Ever since I can remember I've always wanted to be a teacher and I can't think of any other profession that I would want to do for the rest of my life! I'm going to be a teacher because I think that my fun, energetic, and caring personality will benefit and enhance the positive environment of my students. I love being around kids and watching them grow in many different ways such as academically as well as soically. I think that being a teacher would be a very rewarding profession to be in. I want to positively impact the lives of my students and be a role model for them.
What I hope to achieve through teaching:
Through teaching, I hope to achieve the respect of my students. I also hope to be able to not only help my students grow academically, but also grow socially as individuals. I want to my students to look up to me as a teacher and as an individual. Most of all, I want to be able to feel and know that I have made a positive impact in my students' lives.
